Friday August 19th at 5pm the security for SSL/TLS in Exchange will be updated to a more strict policy. Possible result could be some clients might occur a temporary disconnect. Our apologies for the inconvenience this might cause.
Since last night problems occur connecting to the mailenvironment for employees. Many mailclients can not connect. We are working on it. Communication via Twitter (@DICTUGent), Yammer or Skype for Business.
The cause of this problem with Cisco Anyconnect is a Windows update.
Close the Cisco AnyConnect Window and the taskbar mini-icon
Right click vpnui.exe in the 'Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client' folder. (Most likely 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\')
Click on the 'Run compatibility troubleshooter' button
Choose 'Try recommended settings'.
The wizard suggests Windows 8 compatibility.
Click 'Test Program'. This will open the program.
Click on Next.
Choose 'Yes, save the settings fort his program'
Some people may need to repeat the above steps for vpnagent.exe. That is the local service that supports the client user interface.
Another solution is to uninstall the update.
Underneath you can find the procedure to do so.
First, you need to disable automatic updates. This to make sure Windows won't reinstall the update at every boot.
1) Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update.
2) At the left choose 'Change Settings'.
3) Under Important updates choose 'Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them'. Confirm your choice by clicking 'Ok' at the bottom.
Now you can uninstall the update.
1) Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
2) At the left, choose 'View installed updates'.
3) In the 'Microsoft Windows' group, look for the update named 'Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3023607)'.
4) Click this update and choose 'Uninstall' at the top.
After a restart of your PC, without installing updates, Cisco Anyconnect should work again.
Update KB3023607 is packaged by Microsoft in a cumulative update called KB3021952.
Don’t install this update, because it will reinstall KB3023607.
WiFi/Eduroam not available Saturday between 16:00 and 17:00. [8.12.2014]
WiFi/Eduroam will not be available on Saturday, December 6th between 16:00 and 17:00 due to an update of the wireless controller.
DICT will phase out the use of the SSID "UGentNet". Which means that the SSID will no longer be available. The locations where UGentNet is currently least used, will go first. Please consult: Phasing out SSID "UGentnet"

This weekend there are several accounts abused for sending spam. These accounts have been blocked for security reasons and assigned a new password.
