Eduroam settings
Your device should now be connected to Eduroam.
First consult our Eduroam page for some possible solutions.
Is your connection still not working? Please provide us with the information below so that we can check the network logs:
If you are a student with an account from an educational institution other than Ghent University:
Verify that you aren’t using any special characters, because Eduroam may reject them in some countries, else please contact the helpdesk of your own university or college. Please include the response you received from your own educational institution in the ticket.
Your VM environment probably also uses a so-called Docker environment. In that case, you must ensure that the IP range of the Docker does not overlap with the IP range of Eduroam.
Eduroam's IP range is 172.17.0.0/16
So adjust the docker's ip range so that there is no longer a conflict. Or ask your administrator of the VM environment to do this if you are not the administrator. DICT helpdesk cannot make changes to the VM environments.
You can do this by opening 'Device Manager', navigating to 'Network adapters', right-clicking on 'Intel Wi-Fi', and selecting 'Properties'.
In the next tab, go to 'Advanced'. On the left, look through the list of properties for 'Preferred Band', and on the right, change its value to 'Prefer 5GHz band'.
