Clear New Teams Cache:

  1. Press Command + Space and enter Terminal.
  2. Type rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
  3. Press <Enter>.
  4. Type rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2
  5. Press <Enter>.

Note: If you encounter "Operation not permitted" after executing the above commands, it's likely due to System Integrity Protection (SIP). SIP restricts certain operations to protect system-critical files and directories. To work around this, you will have to disable SIP.

Disable SIP (only if required and first check if the problem is still present in Teams):

  1. Restart your device in Recovery mode.
  2. Click Utilities > Terminal.
  3. Type csrutil disable
  4. Press <Enter>.
  5. Restart your computer.
  6. Repeat "Clear New Teams Cache Step 1 – 5" and ensure that "Operation not permitted" does not appear when executing the commands.

Viva Connections is part of Microsoft Viva, the so-called employee experience platform integrated into Microsoft 365 and Teams. It provides employees with personalised and centralised access to company communications, resources and tools. In an independent and smart way, Viva Connections tries to put together a customisable dashboard and send you notifications based on what you read and edit in Microsoft 365 (Office, Teams, Sharepoint, ...).

You can disable Viva Connections notifications in Microsoft Teams by adjusting the notification settings:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams: launch the desktop app.
  2. Go to Settings: click the three dots next to your profile picture (top right) and select Settings from the menu.
  3. Select Notifications: in the settings menu, click Notifications and activities.
  4. Find Viva Connections: scroll to Apps and under it Viva Connections. You can disable Viva Connections altogether or customise specific notifications to your preference.

This will stop you from receiving unwanted notifications from Viva Connections.

You can also disable notifications by right-clicking the three dots on a notification in the activity view and choosing Disable Viva Connections from the menu.

Check in Oasis whether the prospect (future student) has an active welcome-account. You can see this under account-informatie, see screenshot

If the prospect has an active welcome-account, then open a ticket for e-stufi support (M365).
If the prospect doesn't have a welcome-account or the welcome-account is inactive, then it is better to directly contact the Oasis helpdesk helpdesk.oasis@UGent.be

In both cases, please provide all relevant information: prospectnr, e-mail they are trying to login with, error message(s) and/or description of the problem.
