Personal disk space (homedrive)

All Ghent University staff and students have 5GB of personal disk space (= homedrive) on the Ghent University servers. Your homedrive can be accessed on the H: drive or G:\home.

On Athena

The homedrive of Ghent University staff and students is automatically available in Athena. You can view your files and remaining disk space via APPS > category Office > File Explorer. Your H: drive is used as the default location when you open or save files in any application on Athena.

On Intune devices

The homedrive of Ghent University employees is automatically available in the local Explorer application on all professional Windows devices.

On ECM devices

UGent staff and students can also log in on publicly available PCs at UGent, e.g. in PC classrooms or libraries. Log in to this computer with your UGent account and, after startup, your homedrive will automatically become available in the Explorer application on this device.

Manually connect (mount)

UGent staff and students can also manually connect to their personal disk space on any device. When your homedrive is mounted, you will see the drive letter and/or drive name in the (Windows) Explorer or (Mac) Finder application. You can then open or save your files on your homedrive.
