E-mail - Mozilla Thunderbird configuration for students
Configuration for students on the Office 365 environment (Exchange)
Navigate to Extra - Account Settings - Account actions
Remove the old IMAP (Cyrus) account if it is still configured.
Add Mail Account.
Fill in your name, e-mail address and your UGent password. Click 'Next'.
Thunderbird will try to retrieve the settings for the incoming and outgoing mail server.
Check if 'IMAP' is selected. Next click 'Manual config'
Fill in or select or select the following settings
Incoming: IMAP
Servername: outlook.office365.com
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS
Authentication: your UGent password
Outgoing: SMTP
Servername: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587 Security: STARTTLS or Port: 465 Security: SSL/TLS
