UGent account

All UGent students and staff receive an account that allows them to access the university's online services.


Staff

  • New Ghent University staff will automatically receive an invitation via e-mail to activate their account.
  • Affiliated researchers (employees of one of the AUGent association partners active within a research platform coordinated by UGent) automatically receive their account details after registration.
  • If an account was requested for voluntary and unpaid employees, they will automatically receive an invitation via e-mail to activate their account.
  • Retiring employees keep their account for 2 years (after that yearly renewable). The same applies for emeriti.

Students

  • New students receive an e-mail with a link to activate their Ghent University account.
  • Exchange students receive an e-mail with a link to activate their Ghent University account.
  • Upon re-enrolment (even after studies have ended), your account will be reactivated. Forgot your password?
  • Students with an examination contract can have an account for the period of their registration by payment of 500 euros.
  • Job students receive their account information after request to helpdesk, condition is that you are registered as resident of Home Heymans in Oasis.

Externals

  • Registered, resident partners in the University Halls of Residence (in particular in Home Heymans) receive their account information after a request to helpdesk, condition is that you are registered as a resident of Home Heymans in Oasis.
  • Holders of a visitors card receive their account information after request to helpdesk (domestic or foreign visitors who are present in the context of a scientific exchange program during a certain period at the Ghent University, are entitled to an account provided they formally because of Dowa or DOZA granted visitor status gain).
  • External education providers can obtain an account as long as their involvement is included in a program designed by Ghent University in OASIS.
  • External members of the Board of Directors are entitled to one account, and on request can retain this account up to 5 years after leaving the board.
  • External persons who are not entitled to a UGent account can, by invitation and after registration with an email address, obtain an external account for secure, personalized access to certain web applications of Ghent University.
