VPN under MacOS X
Set-up and use of a Virtual Private Network with MacOS X
(from OSX 10.1.5 on)
Mac OS X from 10.8 onwards: use Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility VPN
Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility VPN Client.
Configuration of the built-in VPN-Client on MacOSX Snow Leopard (10.6)
- Go to the Apple sign in the top left corner
- System preferences - Network
- Click on the + sign in the lower right corner of the frame
- Select 'VPN' interface
- Below you click on 'Cisco IPsec'
- Next you click 'Create'
- In the next frame enter the 'Server address': rtrvpn.UGent.be in
- Below you fill in your login name and password
- Then click 'Authentication settings'
- As 'Shared secret ' enter: cisco123
- As 'Group name': ipsecclient
- Click 'OK'
- Tick 'Show VPN status in menu bar'
- Click 'Apply'
